Ian Sosso, The Valley of Death Funding Gap

Mr Sosso is a super angel, founder of Monte Carlo Capital, one of the most active group of business angels in Europe, and 2016 winner of the best performing European Business Angels Network member for 2016.

The EDHEC Student Finance Club successfully launched this year’s Talk season hosting super angel, Ian Sosso, founder and managing partner of Monte Carlo Capital, on The Valley of Death Funding Gap. Among many insightful advice Mr Sosso provided, one must definitely remember the importance of due diligence, or in his own words: “ALWAYS do your homework!”

Before founding Monte Carlo Capital, Ian was, until 2009, the regional managing director and head of capital markets in Asia for Commerzbank where he was managing all capital markets activities in Asia, including equity derivatives, credit, precious metals, foreign exchange, debt capital markets, as well as the treasuries of HK, Singapore and Shanghai.
Ian started his career in 1993 and previously worked in Paris, London, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong with HSBC, UBS and JPMorgan, holding operational and managerial positions in trading, sales and structuring.

Monte Carlo Capital is focused on sourcing small private equity and real estate transactions in Asia, giving investors the opportunity to invest alongside the managing partner.
