As one of the more academic events, the EDHEC Student Finance Club organised an interactive Bloomberg training. In two sessions, students were introduced to different kinds of Bloomberg functions while working on a prepared case.
The first session about Macro Research introduced students over 20 highly relevant Bloomberg-functions in order to be able to navigate quickly. The participants learned how to have a general market overview as well as specifically search for some relevant macro data, indicators and forecasts.
The second session focused on a more specific use of Bloomberg Terminal to analyse a particular market. This was demonstrated on the Energy & Commodities market by conducting a general overview, understanding where and how to find forecasts and how to analyse key aspects of the market to better understand its underlying dynamics. Also in this session, over 20 new functions were explained and used.
The organizing team is proud of the very high success of the event, which is proven by the fact that the number of sessions needed to be tripled to fulfill the demand. In total, 156 students registered of which over 90 could participate and were guided by Fraser MacInnes, who had a lot of fun conveying his knowledge and experience. Thank you very much to all attendees & Fraser!
